MAHA-BALI-PURAM

Mahabalipuram being the Conference Location, was the earlier name of Mamallapuram because the demon king Mahabali was killed by a supreme Hindu God,Lord Vishnu. The name was changed later by the King of Pallava Narashima Varman who has got the title of Mamalla; the great wrestler. Mahabalipuram lies on the Coromandel Coast which faces the Bay of Bengal This was the second capital of the Pallavas who ruled Kanchipuram.. The former name of this place 'Mahabalipuram' has a history. Mahabalipuram being a UNESCO Heritage Site, is a must-visit for the tourists travelling to India.

CHENNAI

Some of the other attractive tourist places in Chennai are the 6th century Hindu temple (Kapaleeshwar) for Lord Shiva at Mylapore, the early 19th century Thousand Lights multi-domed Mosque and the 16th century Roman Catholic Church at Santhome. Fort St. George, the first British fortress in India, promises an assortment of stories-real and fictional-for the history buff. Chennai has a tropical climate, but being on the coastline, it is humid through the year.
